Attorney Profiles >
Please note that this short list is just a start. As a subsidiary of Evers Legal Search, our core value proposition lies in recruiting the right person for every client need. This means finding an attorney with more than just "on-point" experience; we pride ourselves on assessing culture fit, so that you get a team player who appreciates a flexible role with your company. We have many outstanding attorneys who would like to work through us to serve our corporate clients. Once we understand your needs, we can provide the best match for you. Of course, you may meet with one or more of our team members at no cost or obligation before committing to an engagement. These are a few of our fabulous attorneys:
Attorneys with Significant In-house Experience
Amy S. McCarthy
Amy is currently on a long-term assignment for us with a manufacturing client in the western suburbs, but Amy and the client are available as Evers Counsel references for companies considering our service. This project offers an excellent example of our value proposition for legal departments. Amy is undertaking an extensive contract review for our client, working with the procurement team to identify opportunities, inconsistencies, and vulnerabilities, after which she will help put new processes in place.
As a contracts attorney at GE Aircraft Engines for eight years, Amy is ideally suited to meet our client's need. Moreover, she is flexibly meeting the logistical preferences of the client -- working mainly from home, but also at the company's HQ location, and travelling on occasion to out-of-state manufacturing locations. As someone who has "been there and done that" within an industry related legal department, Amy was truly able to hit the ground running.
Tracey L. Fletcher
Tracey puts her community first. She has provided legal assistance for Chicago Promise and Art Works Projects, and she serves on the program development committee for Chicago Global Donors Network. One day per week, Tracey works for a private charitable foundation, where she prepares RFPs, structures grantmaking programs and assists trustees of the foundation. So, she’s pretty cool.
If you choose to engage Tracey, you will also find that she is a heck of a lawyer. She received her JD from the University of Michigan in 1987 and began her career with a mid-size law firm in Phoenix. Tracey went in-house and spent nine years with the American Hospital Association, growing from Counsel to Assistant General Counsel. She developed expertise in health law, commercial contracts and intellectual property. For five years, Tracey was sole in-house counsel for a global public relations firm with 2,000 employees in 40 offices worldwide.
Regina F. Atkins
Check out this experience profile: nine years of corporate work with Baker & McKenzie, then eight years handling commercial contracts, e-commerce and advertising for Sears, followed most recently by a three year tenure as Associate General Counsel with GE Healthcare, in a role that included corporate governance, software licensing, antitrust, and advertising.
Regina received her JD from Northwestern University. She defines the term team player, as everyone who has worked with Regina simply raves about her. We’ll put her legal judgment, business acumen and work ethic up against any overpriced outside counsel. The value proposition here is tremendous.
Carrie Knecht
Protect your trademarks. Carrie is an experienced trademark attorney who brings sound judgment to advertising, marketing, and business development issues. She was a senior trademark attorney with Motorola for eight years, where she helped launch the RAZR cell phone, the "HelloMoto" ad campaign, and handled the clearance of numerous product names. Carrie understands brand creation, trademark protection, enforecement and licensing. After all, she managed Motorola's trademark portfolio!
Carrie's teeth cutting credentials include five years with Seyfarth Shaw and five years as an intellectual property associate with Foley & Lardner. She was on law review at the University of North Carolina's law school, and she did her undergraduate work at a Boston area school called Harvard. Carrie is actually pretty modest, but we like to brag about her.
Associates with three to seven years of "BigLaw" experience
Lisa Chessare
Lisa is a delightful individual who will fit seamlessly with your team. She received her JD from Northwestern in 2005 and practiced with Schiff Hardin & Waite from graduation through 2009. Lisa is a corporate associate and she can help with everything from commercial contracts to M&A work. Her experience includes corporate compliance, finance, and securities filings. Through an AmLaw 200 firm like Schiff Hardin & Waite, Lisa's hourly rate would be well over $300. We're almost embarrassed to tell you that, via Evers Counsel, Lisa can be an asset for your legal department at less than 30% of that rate.
Michelle Yokoyama
Michelle is a sophisticated young woman with board room presence. You can count on Michelle to make a positive impact, do great work, and save you a ton of money versus using the AmLaw 100 firms that trained her. Michelle was a corporate associate with the Chicago office of Jones Day for four years, and she spent two years in the Tokyo office of Morrison & Foerster. Michelle is back in Chicago and available to assist on your transactions. M&A, private equity, securities, commercial contracts... you name it. If you can benefit from the services of a top shelf corporate associate, we've got you covered.
Jessica Heckinger
Jessica is a real team player who can help in a variety of ways when you are drowing in litigation. After graduating from DePaul in 2006 (she was on law review), Jessica joined Katten Muchin and she was a valuable litigation associate for Katten Muchin until the firm downsized in 2009. She has supervised document review projects in sophisticated securities class action matters. Jessica has also handled a variety of commercial contracts disputes. If you can use an extra pair of talented hands to take charge of routine litigation, or if you can use an on-site resource to coordinate a major document review project, ask for Jessica.
