Attorney Profiles
Please note that this short list is just a start. As a subsidiary of Evers Legal Search, our core value proposition lies in recruiting the right person for every client need. This means finding an attorney with more than just "on-point" experience; we pride ourselves on assessing culture fit, so that you get a team player who appreciates a flexible role with your company. We have many outstanding attorneys who would like to work through us to serve our corporate clients. Once we understand your needs, we can provide the best match for you. Of course, you may meet with one or more of our team members at no cost or obligation before committing to an engagement. These are a few of our fabulous attorneys:
Counsel with In-house Experience
Karen Cheng
Adjunct counsel assignments make the most sense for our clients when we deliver true "apples to apples" experience. For Karen's current work with Tenneco, her industry orientation and work product experience fit perfectly. A veteran of Caterpillar's law department, Karen negotiated a wide variety of contracts for Cat's Logistics Services subsidiary and Cat's Solar Turbines business.
Moreover, Karen spent four years as Senior Commercial Counsel for Supply Chain Procurement at Motorola. Our client, a leading international auto parts supplier, benefits from Karen's understanding of complex transactions. She is able to quickly forge trusting relationships with internal clients and add value. Although this particular assignment is long-term, you are always welcome to inquire about the future availability of the attorneys featured here. For immediate needs, we have many excellent attorneys who are ready to help your company, and we will find the right "apples to apples" fit for your opportunity.
David Schechtman
David is the kind of seasoned in-house commercial generalist who our clients rely on to plug holes or serve ongoing needs. He is currently doing just that at Exelon, where he is embedded as an adjunct member of the law department. David's areas of expertise include sales and marketing support, supply chain, regulatory compliance, information technology and licensing.
David gained much of his experience during a very successful twelve year tenure with Motor Coach Industries. He has also worked in-house at Motorola. Most importantly, David is a consummate professional and nice guy. He can adapt quickly to new situations and really hit the ground running.
Yvonne Owens
Update: Yvonne's assignment with DeVry is complete and she is available immediately. Yvonne Owens offers an example of how we can identify, on short notice, excellent subject matter experts. In Yvonne's case, the niche is employment law. Our client, DeVry, asked for an experienced in-house attorney to handle a wide range of client facing responsibilities during a family leave absence period.
Yvonne delivered with eight years of Fortune 500 in-house employment law experience, primarily with USG Corporation and more recently with Hospira. Yvonne has counseled internal clients on all federal employment laws (Title VII, ADA, ADEA, FMLA, FLSA, etc) and she has experience representing her employers with numerous state employment agencies. She counsels human resources and business unit managers on termination decisions, non-compete agreements, internal investigations, litigation prevention, and more. We enjoy spending time with Yvonne; she's a very warm and genuine individual.
Tracey Fletcher
Tracey is a complete in-house attorney with a broad range of experience. She is currently working on an assignment for our client, Whirlpool. As an in-house attorney for five years with public relations firm Edelman, Tracey drafted a broad range of commercial contracts and gained specific expertise in licensing, joint ventures, advertising, promotions, privacy, trademarks and more. During a nine year tenure as Associate General Counsel for the American Hospital Association, Tracey developed expertise in regulatory matters, antitrust, government relations and more.
Tracey received her JD, cum laude, from the University of Michigan and she is very active in community service. She has contributed significant time and professional expertise to a broad range of worthy causes, including Chicago Promise, Art Works Projects, and the Chicago Global Donors Network. In a nutshell, she's a terrific person and clients really enjoy having her on an assignment.
Mike Krebs
Mike exemplfies the Evers Counsel value proposition. His in-house experience includes very successful tenures with 360 Communications, Budget Car and Truck Rental, and Moneris. His broad range of operational experience and industry diversification lends itself nicely to "plug-in" status for almost any commercial need.
Moreover, Mike's credentials are stellar: a JD from Northwestern and six years of heavy lifting teeth cutting within the corporate department of Katten Muchin. He's tech savvy and can handle significant responsibility, independently or within a team structure. Mike is very personable and will do very well in client-facing situations.
Associates with "BigLaw" Experience
Delisa Russell
Delisa has the experience, personality profile and work ethic you want to handle "senior associate" level commercial or transactional support needs. She was a successful associate with Thompson Hine in Cleveland before moving to Chicago and working for four years in the corporate department of Dykema Gossett. During her time at Dykema, before the flow of corporate work stalled there, Delisa was named to the exclusive "40 Under 40" list of accomplished attorneys in the Chicago Law Bulletin. We can pay Delisa well and still offer her services at a fraction of what you would pay for this experience via a traditional law firm. But the real reason to meet Delisa has nothing to do with her resume. You will realize, quickly, that Delisa has the personality attributes to fit seemlessly into an in-house team. She will make your life just a bit easier.
Kara Ervin
What do you get when you combine four successful years as a corporate associate with Katten Muchin, three years of business experience before law school at Akzo Nobel, and a JD from NYU? Since you have been kindly reading our web site, you know the answer: outstanding value. Kara's experience at Katten Muchin includes work among a range of industries, including healthcare, financial services and manufacturing. She can handle finance related assigments such as sophisticated lending work, but Kara has also worked on plenty of general UCC related matters and would be a "good get" for commercial contracts oriented assignments.

We know how to complement or complete your in-house team.
Client Experience
“We put Evers Counsel into a competitive sourcing environment for an employment law attorney with extensive in-house experience to work with us on-site during a family leave period. Evers responded right away, providing a tremendous candidate whose background and capabilities were exactly on-point. What’s more, Evers Counsel was open from the outset to discussing flexible pricing options to meet our needs.”
F. Willis Caruso, Jr.
